R.A.R. attacked
The Anti-Nazi League set up Rock Against Racism (RAR) in 1978 amidst a spate of racist attacks in London. It organised a series of music concerts and festivals to rally young people to support the anti-racist cause.
The leaflet refers to a violent attack on RAR supporters - an attempt to prevent RAR organising in west London - during a concert held in north Kensington's Acklam Hall. The text claims that since 'the failure of the Nazis' in the 1979 general election, racist violence has been on the increase and warns that far right groups are exploiting divisions among youth, 'skinhead against punk, black against white', for their purposes.
