Police Remove a Suffragette demonstrator
Police arresting a struggling Suffragetteduring a riot at Constitution Hill, 21 May 1914. The riot followed an attempted deputation by Emmeline Pankhurst and Suffragette leaders to Buckingham Palce.
The King's refusal to receive the Suffragette deputation resulted in a fierce struggle between the women and the police. Sixty six women, including Emmeline Pankhurst, and two men were arrested outside the Palace gates.
