Telephone, telephone exchange system
This house telephone exchange system provided full inter-communication between up to 10 extensions and direct incoming and outgoing access to two exchange lines. Small exchange sets acted like mini-switchboards and enabled small offices to provide telephone extensions to a number of people from one network connection. This telephone No.4 was manufactured by telecoms giant Plessey at Beeston and then refurbished at the Post Office factory at Cwmcarn, Wales.
