Plaque
Silver plaque presented annually to one of the losing teams competing in the Polytechnic Harriers Marathon Race between 1958 and 1986.The plaque was to go to 'the first unplaced team in the Poly Marathon who have not been in the 1st 2nd or 3rd places in the last three races.' The plaque was given to the Harriers by Miss Hilda Andrew, in memory of her father J.M. Andrew, who helped organise the 1908 Olympic marathon. Andrews's official 1908 medal was attached.
The plaque is inscribed with the names of the holders from 1958. these include: Finchely Harriers (1959), Ealing & Southall Athletics Club (1971), and Herne Hill Harriers ( 1986) besides several teams from outside London . The plaque was given to the Museum by Kingston Athletic Club and the Polytechnic Harriers.
