These visitors are at Marx's tomb in Highgate Cemetery. Karl Marx was born into a Jewish family in Prussia in 1818. He arrived in London as a political refugee in 1850 and lived in the city until his death. He wrote his most influential work 'Das Kapital' in the British Museum Library. Everyday life was tough for Marx, whose work generated little income. He, his wife and their six children lived in poverty.
