Archaeology — Mesolithic (8000BC-4000BC)
Adze
One of a pair of flint adzes placed side by side on the floor of a shallow pit. These were already many thousands of years old when they were buried between 700BC and 500BC, and they may mark the veneration of a long distant past. Found during archaeological excavations of a settlement at Manor Farm Buildings, Old Malden.
