Social History — C. 1930
Camera, folding camera
Kodak transformed photography by making it accessible to a mass audience. In 1888 the Kodak brand was launched with the slogan, 'You press the button - we do the rest'. The American firm opened its first manufacturing plant outside the United States at Harrow in 1891.
This is an American-made No. 1 Pocket folding camera manufactured between 1926 and 1932. It has the autographic feature which allowed the user to inscribe the film using a stylus. Easy to use and convenient to carry, such cameras placed Kodak at the top of the amateur photography market.
