Model Y Ford 8
Model Y Ford '8' two door tudor saloon motor car with a fixed roof. This 'long rad' model with a long radiator grille and front bumper with a dip dates from 1936. From 1935 to 1937 this model could be purchased new for £100.
The Model Y Ford 8 went from drawing board to production in just 10 months. A London-made car it was one of the first to roll off the assembly line at Ford's Dagenham factory in August 1932.
This car had only ever had one previous owner who was 88 years old when he transferred ownership to the Museum of London in 1974.
