Tin, anti-dimming compound
This anti-dimming compound was used to clean the eyepieces of a World War II gas mask. It could also be used to prevent the eyepiece from misting over when the mask was worn. The instructions advised users to breathe on the eyepiece and apply a little compound evenly with the finger, then breathe on the eyepiece again and polish very lightly with the cloth provided so that a thin film of the compound remained.
