This casing is from a bomb dropped from a German Zeppelin on London on 8 September 1915. The bomb fell on Cooper's Bonded Tea Warehouse in Coooper's Row in the City of London but failed to explode. Other bombs dropped during this raid did, however, explode on impact causing widespread damage, killing 28 and injuring a further 60 Londoners. The first Zeppelin raid on London during World War I took place on 31 May 1915.
