Coffin bier
This four wheeled coffin bier in oak with brass fittings was previously used by Stubbings Church in Maidenhead. The bier was made by Dottridge Brothers located at 20 East Road, London and was purchased by the church from William Whiteley's store in Queen's Road in October 1924 for £31.00. The platform has rollers with additional cross pieces and brass beading to allow the coffin to slide freely across. The maker's name and address is engraved on a brass plate fixed to the bier. A second brass plate engraved 'In loving memory of Thomas Money who died on February 13th 1924,' suggests that money from Thomas's estate was donated to the church to pay for the bier.
