Printed Ephemera — 1951
Guinness festival clock, Festival Pleasure Gardens, Battersea
Photographic postcard of the Guinness Clock at the Festival Pleasure Gardens, Battersea Park, during the Festival of Britain, 1951. Unlike the South Bank exhibition, many of the features of the Pleasure Gardens were commercially sponsored. The Guinness Clock was one of the most popular amusements. It was designed by the Lewitt-Him partnership. The clock featured mechanical figures from Guinness advertisements, including toucans.
