Paintings, Prints & Drawings — 1999
London Bridge
This view of London Bridge, by Tom Flint, is taken from the north bank on Lower Thames Street, and looks towards Southwark. The surface of the painting has been dramatically scored and scraped to create an emotionally-charged, atmospheric depiction of London at dusk. A bus is shown crossing the bridge which introduces a human dimension and a sense of the everyday into the painting.
