British Broadcasting Corporation Festival of Britain 1951
Leaflet giving details of BBC broadcasts during the Festival of Britain, 1951. These included concerts, talks, and music that were shown across the regions. The BBC broadcast all the main Festival events as well as its own special Festival programmes. In all, there were 2,700 Festival-related broadcasts. The BBC's Third Programme, a national radio network, broadcast a special 1851 week, which included a dramatisation of Henry Mayhew's study of poverty, and a Victorian version of 'Women's Hour'.
