A Bill of the Dues for the Burial of Ann Pickett
This 'bill of dues' refers to costs incurred for the burial of Ann Pickett in the 'old ground' of St James Church Clerkenwell. Dated 15 January 1835 the itemised bill is printed with a list of services provided by the church against which are handwritten the cost of those services. These include the cost of the burial ground, funeral bell, the services of various ministers and the gravedigger, 'extra depth' and 'shoring'. The total cost of the funeral being £2.4 shillings.
