Community Portrait
The 'Community Portrait' was created by people with special needs living in the London Borough of Richmond, under the guidance of Collective Arts. The portrait is made up of individually decorated tiles. Each person decorated one tile and the whole represents a sense of togetherness. The makers included people of all ages from children to adults. Collective Arts said of the piece ‘the portrait conveys a powerful visual symbol of the diversity inherent in our 21st-century community’.
