Mrs J.W. Collier as Columbine
Souvenir theatrical portrait of the actress Mrs JW Collier in the role of the pantomime character Columbine, the love interest of Harlequin. The portrait is heavily embellished with metal foil and tinsel ornaments, notably on the dress accessories, hair ornament & jewellery. The clothing is of shaded silk. The portrait has been cut from a paper sheet with handcoloured background scenery and mounted on card. Published by Martin Skelt such theatrical souvenirs would have been sold plain for 1/2d for colouring and tinselling at home.
