Inscriptions engraven on the base of the Monument
Text reads: 'Inscriptions engraven on the base of the Monument, descriptive of the Burning & Rebuilding of London, with celebrated inscription round the plinth of the Column, erased by order of the Corn Council on 26 September 1831. There are three columns showing the inscriptions on the column: South side, East Side and North Side. All text in these columns is in Latin. It comes from Wilksinson's Londinia Illustrata, 1834.
