T-shirt & sticker & badge
Outwithit Theatre Company donated this T-shirt to the Museum. It has been decorated and signed by the cast of the company’s first production. They have also written comments about being a lesbian in the 21st century and attached badges and a sticker. Founded in 1999, Outwithit sold T-shirts like this one to raise funds.
Printed with an iron on logo 'Come' on the front and 'Outwithit' on the back, the comments are statments such as 'Lesbian strength KC'; 'To sexy divas everywhere Be good to yourself because nobody else has the power to make you happy Fiona'. The marks have been made by felt pens in various fluorescent colours. Also attached are a circular orange paper sticker printed 'Repeal Section 28 Promote Tolerance Stonewall for Lesbian and Gay Equality', a plastic badge marked 'age of consent 16 no compromise' and a multi-coloured Rainbow cotton ribbon representing the gay community.
