A trader unloads groceries at Caledonian Market
The ‘Cally’ or Caledonian Road was one of London’s largest markets. By 1932 it had over 3,400 stalls. Although originally a general market it soon became famous as a second hand and antiques market and notorious to the police as the largest distribution point of stolen property in London.
