City bomb damage, 62 Lombard Street during the Blitz
World War II bomb damage to No. 62 Lombard Street, caused by the German bombing raid on the City of London on the night of 12 November 1940. The station received a direct hit and the roof collapsed killing many people who were sheltering on the platforms overnight.
