City bomb damage, Bank Underground Station during the Blitz
World War II bomb damage to Bank Underground Station, looking towards the Royal Exchange, caused by the German bombing raid on the City of London on the night of 11 January 1941. The station received a direct hit and the roof collapsed killing many people who were sheltering on the platforms overnight.
