Royal Festival Hall - Floodlit
Souvenir postcard from the Festival of Britain, 1951, showing the Royal Festival Hall and the Skylon illuminated at night. The Festival Hall was built for the London County Council on the South Bank. It replaced the Queens Hall, a large Victorian concert hall in Central London destroyed during the Blitz in 1941. The Festival Hall was designed in a modernist style by Lesley Martin, Peter Moro and Robert Matthew.
