Printed Ephemera — 1881-1900
I shall be glad to take a hand with you Dear
Valentine's card formed from a piece of folded card with textured top surface lightly coloured pink and cream with a serrated edge. The top flap of the card has gilded lettering 'I shall be glad to take a hand with you Dear'. This flap is cut to show decoration applied to the inner flap comprising five printed paper playing cards in the suit of hearts. When the two flaps are folded open the inner card has an applied gilded paper wedding ring and the printed message 'Shall I propose a round game for life?'.
