Embossed chromolithographed scrap depicting Queen Victoria at the opening of he Indian and Colonial Exhibition, South Kensington in 1886. She is attended by the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Connaught. This is one of a series of scrapbook scraps depicting key events in Victoria's reign that may have been issued to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of her accession in 1887. The Indian and Colonial Exhibition was intended to stimulate domestic and colonial trade and to promote a sense of unity within the British Empire.
