Illustration of 'a Greenwich boat traveller' from the preface to 'London: a Pilgrimage' by Blanchard Jerrold and Gustave Doré, 1872. Jerrold recalls how he and Doré lingered and lounged in Greenwich, discussing the scope of the book. "While the pencil worked - upon this figure of a traveller by Greenwich boat among others - we ran through vast series of subjects to be done."
