Printed Ephemera — 1860-1880
My dear little Pigeon. Love you.
Sample Valentine's card comprising two sheets of lace paper. The top sheet by Mansell is embossed with flower design including four roundels of embossed flowers flanking a central oval panel. Applied to the panel a paper cut out of a pigeon perched on a paper log decorated with embossed paper leaves and flowers. Above is handwritten 'My dear little pigeon I love you'. The undersheet is by Dobbs and has a lace paper border with embossed design and central rectangular panel. The panel is now missing its applied decoration but has the handwritten motto 'My dear little Pigeon I love you'.
