Prejudice: the writing's on the wall
Pamphlet entitled 'Prejudice: the writing's on the wall', published by Stonewall, publicising their 'Age of Consent Campaign'. Stonewall is a voluntary organisation campaigning for lesbian and gay equality before the law. The organisation called for the age of consent for gay men to be lowered from 18 to 16. They pointed out that young men were being criminalised for consensual sex and excluded from sex education. This booklet urges people to write to their MP and the press and to organise local meetings to support an amendment to the law. In January 2001 the legal age of consent became 16 for everyone in England, Wales and Scotland, regardless of their sexuality.
