Bowl
Part of a decorated samian bowl, form Dragendorff 30, with ovolo decoration, made in one of the potteries in South Gaul. It is in an early style, with compound-stalked scroll decoration, with leaf-tip infill in lower lobes. Samian ware is high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire. See Stanfield, 1930, P.
