Printed Ephemera — 1999
London mayor Let Ken Livingstone stand
This election campaign sticker was issued by the 'Livingstone for London' campaign. This campaign aimed to persuade the Labour Party to allow Ken Livingstone to be short-listed in its London Mayoral selection process.
The Labour Party had introduced a vetting procedure to ensure Labour candidates were in support of the government's national policies. Ken was not selected by Labour but stood instead as an independent candidate and won the Mayoral election in February 2000.
