Mr T.P.Cooke as Tom Trim
Handcoloured theatrical souvenir sheet engraved with a portrait of the actor Mr TPCooke in the role of Tom Trim. T.P. Cooke was known for playing the role of a sailor and often appeared in nautical plays. The plate is embellished with metal foild tinsel ornaments on the gun, sword, belt and shoe bows. The trousers are of cloth. Portraits of actors in character were popular theatrical souvenirs. Decorating such portraits with tinsel ornaments purchased for the purpose was a popular past-time.
