Prehistoric — Late Iron Age-early Roman; 1st century AD
Mount
Small bronze mount or crest in the form of the front of a boar. This was probably attached to the rim of a drinking vessel made of metal or wood. Such mounts are mainly found on Roman sites - although the boar was a popular decorative motif before the conquest. Found in Eastcheap, Lower Thames Street, City of London.
