Trade card, invoice
Copper-engraved trade card advertising the business of John Wells nightman located at Tyburn Road, near Poland Street. The card is engraved with an image of the nightman in his uniform, in the background can be seen nightmen loading 'nightsoil' into a cart. On the reverse is a handwritten invoice referring to the payment for 'nightwork' undertaken at the home of Robert Hucks in Castle Street.
