Francis Humphrys
Copper-engraved billhead and handwritten invoice issued by Francis Humphrys seller of oils, pickles, hops, vinegar, pitch, tar, resin, allum and colours for house painting located 'at the Jar and Three Pidgeons, near the corner of Warwick-Lane, in Newgate Street. The billhead includes an engraving of the tradesman's sign of three pigeons encloed within a vignette above a storage jar. Dated July 30th 1742 the invoice refers to the supply of pitch and tar to Robert Hucks.
