Knuckle-duster
Leather, brass and iron knuckleduster, set with rows of sharp spikes. With a textile and leather attachment for strapping to the wrist, and a larger retractable metal spike. In 1867 up to 100,000 Londoners earned a living through criminal activity. ‘No-go’ areas controlled by gangs could be found throughout the capital. Knuckle dusters were the weapon of choice for many young criminals.
