The Dove and Olive Branch
Thomas Hose issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the Dove and Olive Branch, in Little Old Bailey (now part of Old Bailey), ward of Farringdon Without, City of London.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2106; Obv inscription: THOMAS.HOSE.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A dove and olive branch (in field); Rev inscription: IN.THE.LITTLE.OLD.BAYLY (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY / T.R.H. (in four lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as bottom, in field).
