The good child's reward
Children's book, volume 1 of 'The Affectionate Parent's Gift and the Good Child's Reward' by Henry Sharpe Horsley. The book contains a series of illustrated poems and essays on 'natural', moral and religious subjects. It contains a handwritten dedication to 'Janet Coleman 1828'. The book was published by Thomas Kelly and printed by J. Rider of Little Britain, a centre for the London book trade. Thomas Kelly was an Irish immigrant who rose from modest beginnings as a farmer's boy to become a publisher and bookseller based in Paternoster Row, near St. Paul's Cathedral. This children's book was one of his publications.
