The Tobacco Roll
Thomas Seele issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the sign of the Tobacco Roll, in Shoe Lane, ward of Farringdon Without, City of London.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2804; Obv inscription: THOMAS.SEELE.AT (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A roll of tobacco (in field); Rev inscription: SHOOE.LANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = T.A.S. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
