The Churn
Isaacc Hickman, a cheesemonger, issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business in Limehouse, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Middlesex number 141; Obv inscription: ISACK.HICKMAN.CHEES (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.E.H. / 1/2 (triad of initials in Roman capitals with denomination below, in field); Rev inscription: MONGER.IN.LIMEHOVSE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A woman churning (in field).
