Printed Ephemera — 1908
Map and Route of Suffragette Procession, Saturday June 13th 1908
Leaflet noting the procession order for a march on 13 June 1908 organised by the National Union of Womens Suffrage Societies. On the reverse is a plan of the starting places for different blocks of marchers. This march was organised by the NUWSS to place pressure on the new Prime Minister Asquith to support the passage of the women's suffrage bill through parliament. This bill was introduced into the Commons in February 1908 by the Liberal MP for North Kensington, H.Y.Stanger. Although it was passed, its second reading was subsequently blocked by the government.
