Printed menu for a dinner held at Marlborough House on the 16 March 1874 in Honour of the recently married Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
Printed on a sheet of cream card with an embossed border pattern the menu is written in French and includes the embossed Coat of Arms of the Prince of Wales, the feathers coloured silver, the crown gilded and red. On the reverse of the card is handwritten a list of guests present at the dinner, probably written by a member of the Royal Family present at the dinner.
Completed in 1711 Marlborough House was home to the Dukes of Marlborough until 1817 after which it became home to various members of the royal family including Edward VII and Queen Mary. The House now serves as the Headquarters of the Commonwealth Secretariat and Commonwealth Foundation.
