Saxon & Medieval — Medieval; late 13th-mid 14th century
Mirror case
This mirror case held a small glass magnifying mirror, just big enough to see one's face in. The glass is still held in situ with a putty-like material. The glass is degraded and flaked. Both outer surfaces of the case are decorated with a 'cross' design formed by punch marks.
