Post-Medieval — Tudor; 16th century
Comb
This wooden comb is double-sided and made from one piece. There are very close-spaced thin teeth on one side, which is ideal for catching lice. The other side has thicker, more spaced teeth. To have properly combed hair was an important way of keeping yourself well-groomed, especially at a time when people did not wash their hair very often.
