This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for the King's Head Tavern, on Horsly Down, Southwark.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Southwark number 269; Obv inscription: KINGS.HEAD.TAVERN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A king's head, crowned (in field); Rev inscription: AT.HORSLYDOWN.1653 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = T.A.S. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
