Kensington Gardens - The Fountains
The Italian Gardens depicted here is an ornamental water garden situated at the head of the Long Water, which flows through Kensington Gardens into Hyde Park. It is believed to have been created as a gift from Prince Albert to Queen Victoria.
Christina Broom was a professional photographer who produced a series of London street views for sale as postcards. She later photographed the activities of the suffrage movement in London and is considered one of the earliest female press photographers.
