Royal Albert Hall, Interior
The interior of the Royal Albert Hall filled with spectators. The Royal Albert Hall opened in 1871 following the success of the Great Exhibition of 1851, held in nearby Hyde Park. The Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 also established several museums and colleges in South Kensington.
Christina Broom was a professional photographer who produced a series of London street views for sale as postcards. She later photographed the activities of the suffrage movement in London and is considered one of the earliest female press photographers.
