The Dolphin Tavern
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued at the Dolphin Tavern, in Tower Street (now Great Tower Street), Tower Ward, City of London.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3225; Obv inscription: THE.DOLPHIN.TAVERN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A dolphin and a bear (in field); Rev inscription: IN.TOWER.STREETE.1650 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = R.E.W. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
