The Crossed Swords
Henry Morton issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the sign of the Crossed Swords, in Thames Street (now Upper Thames Street and Lower Thames Street).
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3111; Obv inscription: HENRY.MORTON.AT.YE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Crossed swords (in field); Rev inscription: IN.THEMBS.STREET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = H.V.M. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
