The Canary House
This trade token, worth a penny, was issued for a business at the Canary House, in the Strand, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3018; Obv inscription: AT.THE.CANARY.HOVSE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Monogram of CANARY (in field); Rev inscription: IN.THE.STRANDE.1665 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = 1D in a wreath of vine leaves (in field, in Roman capitals).
