Shoe, slipper
A pair of men's slippers or mules, once owned by King George IV. The note accompanying them states that they were bought after the king's death (in 1830) from Mr White, Shoemaker of Kings Street, Westminster, in March 1851.
The vamps are made of cloth of silver, woven with metallic thread over a cream silk ground. They are lined with pink silk taffeta and trimmed around the edge with silver metal thread braid. The soles are made of leather. The silver pair are A3832 and A3833.
